Life to cruise by on a canal boat!

  • Go as you please

The valleys and hillsides dotted with castles and vineyards, are a stunning backdrop to the ancient bridges, locks, villages and waterfronts which beckon you to explore. Cycle to the local market and wander through the villages, taste and savor the local specialties - all in your own time, anchor where and when you wish, with the freedom to spontaneously pursue your interests and satisfy your sense of curiosity.

  • Outdoor lifestyle

You will settle into your home on still waters before the first bend in the canal. After a briefing from our staff you will glide off, at ease, steering your boat. Share the fun of piloting the penichette, with young and old alike. Otherwise swim, cycle (for hire from our base), fish, read, sunbathe, explore, picnic, nap, draw, meet fellow barging or simply allow the French countryside to embrace you.

  • At home aboard

Whichever hotel barge you choose to cruise on, you'll be welcome in a nicely decorated lounge and accommodated comfortably in spacious cabins with private en-suite. Saloon and cabins are air-conditioned. Because all hotel-barges are designed individually, size and decoration of cabins will vary from one boat to the next. Most barges will offer inviting terrace with outdoor furniture and often a spa.

  • starry nights

In the mornings, ride or walk along the path to the local village and buy fresh, warm bread and croissants for breakfast. In the afternoon sit on deck in the dappled light and in the evenings take in the spectacle of the starry night skies.

where to cruise?

The most famous cruising areas in France are Burgundy and the Canal du Midi whilst Alsace and Champagne offer very scenic cruises as well. Less known but equally delightful, a cruise on small canals in rural Brittany will allow you to discover gem hidden away from the main path.

how much?

There are boats for all budgets: Price starts as low as 131 Euros / day for a traditional Penichette Classic 935 (2 to 5 persons). Our largest and most modern penichette 15.00 Flying bridge accommodating 8 to 12 people will cost 457 Euros / day in low season. A deposit of 40% is required to book and the balance is due 60 days prior departure.

how to choose?

Choosing the right boat is important to make sure you'll have a life time memory cruise. Don't get misled by the maximum number of passengers on board. It's good practice to limit the number of guests on board to the number of permanent berths in cabins and avoid using the convertible folding table as additional sleeping area. We know our boats well, we will help you selecting the perfect boat.

when to book?

It is essential to book well ahead of time to get the boat you want. We accept booking up to a year ahead of cruising. We look forward to welcoming you on board.
